100 Words on Love, by Dan Szczesny
She will ride, our unborn daughter,
In the alley and sidewalk and the drive,
But she’ll be on racetracks and in spaceships and under the sea.
She will peddle until her little legs give out,
And there’s no race left to win and,
I’ll carry her home on my shoulders.
I’ll carry her home on my shoulders.
That bell will signal her coming of age,
Her asserting freedom,
The beginning of a new adventure.
Tassels slapping against her white knuckles
Head down, eyes furious into the wind,
Head down, eyes furious into the wind,
She will ride and she will be magnificent.
